  1. Bob Dylan's 'With God on Our Side,' is a song that addresses the notion that a higher power sides with each person and likewise opposes those who disagree with them, which is enough justification for the wars and other horrifying things that people do to one another. Lyrics like," In the nineteen-sixties came the Vietnam War / Can somebody tell me what we're fightin' for? / So many young men died / So many mothers cried / Now I ask the question / Was God on our side?,"

  2. Yesterday-The Beetles says,

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay
    Oh, I believe in yesterday

Suddenly, I'm not half the man I used to be
There's a shadow hanging over me.
    Oh, yesterday came suddenly

Why she had to go I don't know she wouldn't say
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday

Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
    Oh, I believe in yesterday

Why she had to go I don't know she wouldn't say
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday

Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
    Oh, I believe in yesterday
Mm mm mm mm mm mm mm

to me its seems as if he had to go to the war and he can no longer see the love of his life and later on he states theres a shadow over him which seems as if he remembers all the people he had to kill and it haunts him.

  3. The Doors - Unknown Soldier

"Wait until the war is over
And we're both a little older
    The unknown soldier "

The song is against the war, talking about how soldiers are not done until the war is over, and lives never stop ending until it's over.

  4. You gave a gift to me
    In my young age
    You sent me overseas
And put the fear in me
And I ask what for now
    Why me, why war?
And I ask what for now
    Vietnam War?
Spent my time there by the shore

Oh we got off that boat
    Charlies everywhere
    A lotta killin' and dyin'
And no one seems to care
    I ask what for now
    We say hell no
    And I ask what for
    Why me, why war?
And I spent my time there by the shore

This was against the Vietnam War, they're telling how they feel about It. & they're questioning why do we have to have war. & I agree because I wouldn't want war either, I would want peace.
