It's Everybody's Business (1954)

Watch the propaganda video above…

These propaganda videos were common back during the Cold War. They were made to inform citizens of the dangers of communism, and to heighten awareness.

What are your general comments? What are the connections to today's world?

  2. For some reason. I can't tell if this video supports capitalism...or is against it.

  3. People dont want to pay taxes because they dont want there money taken, but when income tax comes they like there money back. Whenever you start a business you dont EVER keep a lot of your earnings. Most of it goes to people who helped you start it and the government. By the time you pay everything and everyone off you wont have enough to get the big goal that you wanted. You would have to downgrade. In the 21st century people are not as surprised when they have to give taxes out of their earnings because in the end they still get it back.

  7. i think that the video didn't exactly interpret the Way things happen during Wartime, factories that are considered un-essential aren't simply cut off they are turned into essential business IE a factory producing synthetic flowers would be made into a factory that produced ammunition

  13. In this video it shows the cycle of business and how they work. it shows the challenges you may face if you own your own business or if you are employed by someone. this relates to today because people continue to wish to get paid more and people continue to want to own their own business but they don't have finical support.

  23. The video informs us about how the United States economy works, as clock work, like a well oiled machine, our economy system is citizen based, therefore there will be competition and price fluctuation, as well as taxes and labor charges. People who want to start a business need to know the cycle before they go into debt.

  29. This video is explaining how citizens' businesses can be knocked down, easily. For example, the first man's business with hats was receiving lower interest rates from fellow citizens because of the competing hat store close by.The world today is connected to this video because of the way the first appearing man thinks is the best way to earn money, is by creating a business of his own.
